At only 20, Guy Mearns is one of the hottest properties within the UK hard trance scene having had six releases on Tidy Two already. The first at the age of 17 under the Riot Brothers guise with his brother Gavin, and the latest being his new single ‘Possibly’ which has the much awaited cover of Carte Blanche that himself and Lee Haslam produced.
He is also responsible for engineering some of Tidy's biggest releases outside of his own including Lee Haslam's 'Music Is The Drug' and many of Lee's remixes for Dumonde and Lost Tribe.
Remix work has also been flooding in for the the young man over recent months with his name appearing on tracks from Rob Tissera, Steve Hill, Fallout Boy, Ian Van Dahl & the late and great Tony De Vit. Although lately Guy has put off remixes for a while to concentrate on new material of his own including a forthcoming EP which will showcase some music that he isn’t known for and hopefully broaden his musical spectrum and audience.
More recently he had the honour of co-writing and remixing the new JX single called “Restless” which reached the UKs National Top 20 in February 2004.
This rise to fame and the fact that Guyver is one of the most respected and sought after production names in the hard dance scene has resulted in his name being frequently emblazoned on huge compilations like Extreme Euphoria and Godskitchen compilations.
Late 2004 and early 2005 will see Guy collaborating more with some other names, including Steve Hill, Paul Maddox, Jez and Charlie, Colin Barrett, Ingo, and Dave Wright of Roland and Wright fame.
His DJ diary is filling up rapidly with bookings at Sundissential, Polysexual, Slinky, Frisky, Frantic and more confirmed. Internationally Guyver has played in Madrid and Pamplona, Spain for Dreams Corporation and in Holland for HQ. He's also toured Japan, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and Canada, with more dates for Canada and San Francisco at the end of 2004.
2004 has also seen the launch of new label ‘Synapse’ which is currently a project of Tidy’s and is managed primarily by Paul Maddox, Guyver, Ingo, Colin Barrett and Lee Pasch, the first release received great feedback and the future is looking very bright for this new label and artist!
