Sound recorder (like a dictaphone)

Postby geeza » Mon Dec 24, 2007 3:22 pm

Is it possible to get a sound recorder (like a dictaphone) that is good enough quality to record loud music, can record over 10 hours and battery lasts for 10 hours?

What are dictaphones like at recording in loud environments?

My canon powershot A540 camera can record video with good enough sound quality in compact mode for 3.65hours onto a 2gb sd card. Pointed at a black wall i reckon the batteries could last out for 10 hours.

This isnt really practial as the lens will be out all the time and its not really meant for just recording sound.

There must be a similar device that just has the option of recording higher quality sound onto SD memory with 1 aa battery for about £50 seems as though i got the A540 for £70
